I thought I'd get into the whole landscape/old buildings theme going on. Here's a shot of the abandoned subway tunnel here in Rochester, NY.

#9, I think it's just an area that catches rain water from the street above and it flows out those holes into the river area there. There are all sorts of pipes and crap that randomly start shooting out steam or making noise.. good place to make a scary movie.
