yet also has a 5.4l engine in a space it shouldn'e be in, (at the time) specificly designed heads, special body work etc.

#27, That's not even in the same league. The Viper has status. Rich people like to buy them (special or tuner versions even more so) to show how much money they have. This is a Mustang. It doesn't have status for rich people.
