#40, And I didn't say those were direct competitors. You were talking about how GM's doing business. |

#42, Ford has ambitions of moving the Cobra "up-market" (which is stupid for various reasons), and it's always been priced noticeably higher than base-model and GT Mustangs.
My earlier crack about the Camaro was founded in the way that GM has, as far as I can tell, managed to thorougly desecrate the names "Malibu", "Monte Carlo", and "Impala". It's almost enough to give me the impression that they think the Cavalier coupe is a suitable basis for an entry-level "performance" car. |

#44, And I was primarily referring to how they're running their lower-end marques. |

#46, That was the old, pre-Lutz GM. Things are getting much better. Actually the Cavalier itself is actually going away soon. For the 2005 MY the Cobalt will be replacing it. I really think he'll bring the Camaro back too. If all indications are right, it'll be around the 2007 MY. |

#46, Also on that note the Impala and Monte Carlo are supposedly going RWD again in a few years. |

At least the Camaro never got tainted though. Not even Mustang II-style. |

The 2005 G6 looks to be kinda cool too (replacement for the Grand Am). One of the options will be a power retractable hardtop and pretty decent power. |

Love the styling. But a 3.9 liter V8? Please. The Mustangs lack torque as it is. And it's still overhead cam. I think Ford is getting caught up in this retarded-ass horsepower per liter thing.
I'd take the GTO over this any day. |
