#19, I'm sure you can get away with it and still keep one of your kidneys. |

take a look at the sccoa's fastest list. to be in the top 10 you have to beat a 12.7.. there's now a decent amount of people/comapnies making parts.. front mount intercoolers, double stock intercoolers, mangnum powers blowers and inlet plenums |

#19, I mean, I know you can put a 5.0 'Bird into the 12s, and with the proper gearing a built 4.6 should be good for somewhere in the 13s, NA. But I've always gotten the impression that the SC was sort of a risky way to go, since you're basically relying on your ability to make a 3.8L take heaping helpings of abuse. :-) |

How about just drop a 351 into your current car, Lemming? It'll need some additional reinforcement so it doesn't fall to pieces, but it'll be a unique creation. Keep the stock V6 appearance if you can though. :) |

#26, Taking a car I still owe money on, trying to put in an engine that is incompatible with virtually all the chassis electronics, then blowing the transmission and rear end? Doubly expensive. |

"blowing the transmission and rear end:
That's the additional reinforcement I was speaking of. :P
Screw electronics, gut the car and just use the chassis/body with some old-fashioned American mechanics. I hate CPU-controlled engines anyways. |

#29, The computer system also controls the door locks, ignition lockout, gauge cluster (!) and a few other random little things on that car. Fabrication requirements would be extensive--there is a good reason that Saleen and company are still in business. |

#16, top-end is still nice in a truck...and i wouldnt have a problem with ford if dodge didnt have the hemi, and chevy didnt have the 6.0 and the big block in their trucks...if you can get both hp AND torque, why not? sure, its a truck, but everybody else is giving their trucks a ton of power and ford is way behind |

#16, if trucks still stuck to the original formula of simplicity and work, there would be no lightning, or srt-10, or anything else performance or comfort-oriented |

#33, Well, yeah, but why don't you go run the prices on a set of complete '01 Cobra heads and the rest of the fuel/induction system? :-P |

#32, It's also the first model year, how many engines did dodge offer in year 1 of the new rams?
#34, not neccisarily true on the performance aspect |

#35, well some people look for a light-duty truck that can haul stuff from home depot once in a while and still have no problem staying in the fast lane |

I wasn't aware 300+ hp was required to "stay in the fast lane" |
