Description:
Need For Speed: Underground. It's a pretty good game if you like a good laugh, plus the gameplay is pretty good. Let's face it, exotics are out and import tuners are in. lol :P |

I have midnight club 2 for PS2, which is pretty fun. I played the demo of Underground, and the "sensation of speed" is raelly cool, but right now i'm broke. |

Yes, that Skyline is hideous, but I bought the game a couple weeks ago and I still love it. I beat it, but it's still fun to make cars, and you aren't actually forced to go ricey except for in a couple races. Other than those races, you can go through the game like I did, with a sleeper. But sometimes it's just fun to see how stupid-looking you can make a car (I think that's the sole purpose for including the Neon in the game). |

I played the game with a GeForce 4 card and it failed so I bought a GeForce FX 5900. It's amazing how much different the game is with a great video card. Car windows are transparent, you can see the cheering crowds, your headlights light up the road, you can have light trails and motion blur. The latter makes things too blurry but light trails are definately cool. I'm guessing that most PC users don't get these options and features since it seems you need an uber video card. |

I really hated that you had to unlock even the basic performance upgrades |

I agree about the performance upgrades, but I still love the game. And I got it for Xbox btw, so I have all the effects enabled, and it looks great. |

I played the xbox version as well, and I'll never forget when the hello kitty civic pulled up next to my RX-7. |

I'm pretty disappointed in this game. Every track is basically the same with a drag race and a drift track every now and then. At least the other NFS games offered a changed of scenery. But after racing about 25 or so races, I'm bored with it. Too bad there isn't a free roam mode. |

Fuck The EA Sports Nazi's. First they had something really cool with Motor City Online. It was 100% online but they started out supporting it well, then they eventually just shut it down and tried to bribe you off with your pick from 2 other shitty titles. Then they ported NFS Hot Pursuit 2 FROM PS2 to PC, the game itself wasnt too horrible, other than the lack of controls, constant crashing, stripped down replay camera and lack of patches. And now the insult me by bringing me rice for speed underwear. |

This game gets old after beating it twice, there's nothing to do after beating it. Even car modding can't keep your interest any longer. Hot Pursuit 2 was a much more replayable game and I think it's better than Underground. |

Is the game full of "ricey"-logic?
I mean... does a bodykit make the car handle better for example? |

On at least two different occasions I've had some stupid ricers back in my dorm in Lubbock get mad at me when we're discussing this game. They both thought it was cool how there were games about illegal underground street racing. Then they get upset when I mention that in real underground illegal street races, there are giant neon banners with arrows on them pointing you where to go. Also, there is no traffic, and no police. Especially late at night in a dense urban district. In Japan, or wherever this is. Losers.
NOTE: This game does LOOK good on PC, but, eh. The programmer's talent could be a lot more useful elsewhere. |
