Description:
Now this is what crumple zones are for. Notice the lack of damage to the passenger compartment. Engines a different story.. but thats not the point of crumple zones.

Exactly, what most people don't understand is that these modern cars are actually safer than those old boats (StillRuns :P) because the car sacrifices itself and takes all the shock instead of it's occupants.

#1, I've tried saying that before, but it's just not worth the argument. Personally, I'll take a car with crumple zones any day; I've been in two wrecks in "modern" cars (one well over 10 years ago, but still), and despite the damage to the vehicles, I've emerged unscathed.

see heres the thing, if i'm in a wreck thats so bad my car can't be fixed, I would want to be dead from said wreck.

And I disagree.

edit: I'd rather survive a wreck that destroys my car, than risk a possibly increased chance of death in accidents that wouldn't destroy a "stronger" car.

I had this teacher with a Ford Torino Elite (big ass boat) who was rear-ended by a brand new Buick in the early 90s. the whole front of the Buick was destroyed and steam was coming out and I think it had to be totalled, while the only damage to his car was a bent licence plate, I think they were only going about 15 MPH, too. Give me a full-frame car over this modern paper-mache crap anyday.
