Went down and price out one of these. I'm thinking of picking up a GT w/stick. Graphite with a dark interior. ABS & The interior upgrade package where the only options I really wanted. Going for more of the strip down racer kind of feel. I may hold out for a year or two, see what kind of specialty packages they come out with.

I'm starting to not like it. It is losing its appeal. Ford hasn't released anything that isn't cheap lately. I bet the interior is going to have the CHEAPEST cloth and a really rubbery feel. It will be like sitting in an Escape.

#5, umm GTs will be leather (well most of them) and while I havent sat in it, from what I could see up close it looked really damn nice inside

#5, They went all out with the interiors on them. Probably the best aspect of them.

I really like the wheels on the car pictured, but unfortunately I think they only come on the V6s. The GT wheels are UGLY. I wonder how Last-gen Mach 1 or Bullitt wheels would look on one?

#7, What? The V6 Mustangs won't come stock with tristars? There is a God.

They pretty much phased out the tri-star wheels over the last couple years, anyway. I can't say I've seen an '02+ Mustang rolling on anything smaller than 16s that I know of, and certainly not the '03/'04 cars.

#9, Aha. Alrighty then, glad Ford came to their senses about tristars. :)

And my attitude regarding these remains the same. When I get bored with the 3.8 NA setup in my car, I intend to acquire something else for a daily driver, then convert the Mustang to something more "dedicated".

The new styling just doesn't do much for me; I think they got it right with the '99-04 body style.

#11, Daily driver, eh? Get a mid-'90s Mirage :P

With my lead foot and A/C cranked up all the way, I still get north of 30mpg [/win]

I say for a daily driver you can't go wrong with a compact truck. Good utility, good mileage, and their simple setup makes them easy to work on. There are also all kinds of things you can do to the interior/exterior to make it comfortable and good looking, and assuming you get a V6, they usually have plenty of performance upgrades available too. Something like a 4.3 S10 makes good transportation.

If I had a large surplus of money to spend, I'd probably get some sort of econo-wagon or hatchback (I'd want room, but not a truck) and then start working on putting a high-winding 302 and more open-track oriented suspension on the Mustang. Heck, as it stands, I've pretty much made up my mind that I want to go with the suspension aspect of that next year (just want to get power issues sorted by the end of this year).

Always V6 Mustangs here. Maybe the odd Mazda 3 or similar compact.

I wonder if this is/was the same one Laird Noller had at first. Wait, nope, different colored rocker-stripes.
