650hp and runs 12s. If he/she was going to BS then they should have made up a hp rating that went with the time.

And remember, that 2 lb/ft of torque is at 12,500 RPM...

Yeah but serious 650hp its going to have some torque not as much as say an 8 with the same power but its gona have a bit.

yeah, but with FWD...if you are running normal tires (not slicks with like 5 psi in them) 12's are probably pretty accurate. FWD cars totally suck for drag racing.

This looks like a street car. You just flat can't put that kind of power in a FWD street car and expect to hook it up. Won't happen. 12s are accurate, with the hideously shitty launches this would mandate.

Hell, I never could get a good launch with my eclipse, and it had "only" about 450hp. even with a completely reworked suspension.

A super charged Buick Regal can do 15's and it only has like 190 HP

#8, Supercharged Regal GS's have 240hp and 280 (I think) in the torque catagory. The new Grand Prix GTP has 260 as does the Bonneville SSEi. And anyone who thinks a crap-ass Honda four banger can be putting out any more than 250 without "Nawsss" or any other real performance booster is just damn stupid. After all, racing a Honda is like winning the Special Olympics: Even if you win, you're still retarded.

#10, the accord puts put 240hp/215lb ft stock from a 3L V6
the maxima puts put 265/255 from a 3.5 V6
both of these cars are NA.
considering the GTP has a 3.8 and a supercharger, 240/280 isn't saying a whole lot.

#11, would rather have the 280 torque eh? All about where the power lies... plus the buick 3.8L in a known performer... you must also consider that you can make plenty more power with the 3.8L before it blows up versus the accord/maxima which are probably running closer to their 'max ratings'.

It's like comparing my 305 to a modern engine. I only make 180hp stock out of 5Ls - it sucks, so therefore all small block chevys suck. Eh - yeah.

#12, i'm just saying that for that displacement and forced induction, i expect higher numbers. especially considering these cars are in a similar price range.

btw, do you know what the engine code for the gtp 3.8 is?

well, 260hp and 280lb-ft is a good number, but the car is still slower than the maxima or the accord...is it heavier or what?

#13 the 3.8 IS a pushrod engine though, so i think 200hp n/a is a good number for ir
