This makes 500 horses? Wow. Congrats, Max, on making a custom car this fast with Magnum 500s. Every other custom '70 Mustang I've ever seen had shitty 17"+ wheels on it, but these are still the best looking wheels for this car. Even Torque Thrusts and Cragars don't look as good, which is unusual.
But if this car was mine, I would HAVE to put in a 4-speed.

I might be mistaken but I don't think the Mach One was an option as a coupe.... but what do I know about Ford?

No, Mach 1 was only on the "Sportsroof" (fastback).

Nope, no coupe or convertible Mach 1s. That's not what I'm going for, either... I'm just doing a badass-looking coupe, and if it happens to have some Mach 1 stuff on it, so be it.

Hey Max, this may not be the greatest pic of you....but for a Ford guy you're pretty hot! =) Dodge still rules and a Viper will still kick your ass! =) hehehe

Hey, thanks! But having just gotten back from the Mid-America Ford / Shelby convention in Tulsa, OK, I've come down with a nasty case of Blue Oval fever and will have to take exception to the "Viper kicking my ass" bit. There are a couple Vipers around here; now I just have to find one and convince the owner to race me. The hunt begins...

I'll see what I can do. The problem is, both of the Vipers I know of are owned by lawyers who are over 45... I don't know if they'll race. I may have to settle for an ambulance-chasing contest.

I have a buttload of pictures from Mid-America that I'll be posting over the next few weeks... some really great stuff there. I saw the new GT40 (and two old ones,) the Forty-Nine, a pre-production Mercury Marauder (got to sit in that one,) the world's fastest Edsel, scads of awesome Mustangs and Shelbys, a bunch of cool vintage race cars, and a baby-shit-green '75 Gran Torino wagon with flowers sponge-painted on it that stunned the show by laying down a 12-second pass. Bad weekend to be a ricer in Tulsa.... Plus, as a special added bonus, I have photographic evidence of pure automotive stupidity! Rice form, and just plain DUMB form.

There was an open cruise in last Friday in town here, shoulda brought my camera, saw 3 other nice firebirds, couple 1st gen camaros, a challenger, a GTO convertable, Couple mustangs, a REAL Impala that hasn't been given the low-rider treatment and plenty of other stuff, including a couple really stupid ricemobiles that impressed no one, cuz they were still primer grey w/ ExTrEMe wIndShIeLD BaNNers YO!
