#18, I'm not referring to looks in this case. IIRC, these Cobras were expected to be about 37-3800 lb. cars. Overall, across the board, the cars are all about 200 lbs. heavier than their SN95-based predecessors, which were overweight to begin with.

But, if we're going to dwell on looks, the '05s look downright chubby, even compared to the '99-04s.

#21, 3800lbs? That's heavy than an MN12 isn't it? Ranking right up there with 3000GT VR4s and such or am I wrong?

#22, No, that's about right. http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/s...tab=2&sub=4

The GTs weigh about 3450 lbs. and the V6s weigh 3300--in both cases, that's a gain of nearly 250 lbs. compared to the previous model, and this Cobra thing is guaranteed to be a few hundred on top of that (heck, the '04 Cobras weighed about 400 lbs. more than the GTs).

#17, Well, that was only from one site, others are saying it'll be in the mid 40 range. But as far as pricing goes around the dealerships near me, a 2006 Stang V6 will usually retail for 25-29K, a GT will be in the 30-33K range, and they have a GT 66 edition with a 375hp engine, Steeda kit, 6-speed performace tranny and racing wheels for a litle less than 30K. But that was last years model, and it really depends on how many options you want as well. The 2005 models are thousands of dollars cheaper. I see 05 GTs well under 30K all over.

#1, *looks at TV screen with that post on it*
*turns to camera*

Hi, that was me almost a year and a half ago. Back then, I had no idea that Ford would be building this car out of a solid clump of lead. Now that I know that this thing weighs over 4000 lbs dry, my opinion is quite different.

SVT/Shelby. Making driveways scream in pain since 2006.

I still like these. If I could drive a stick worth a damn and could afford the gas, I'd sport one.
Plus they're cheaper and actually lighter than a Mercedes SL or new M3 vert.
