#1, Agreed, my dad's T100 is much better-looking than this ugly POS. |

#3, I do too. I think Toyota is trying too hard to compete with the "big boys" and this is what happened. |

#4, mainly because people don't much think of import companies making trucks that compete with GM, Ford and Dodge |

Looks like crap, but close-minded people will still buy it thinking that a better interior or a higher torque rating or more horsepower at the wheels than domestic trucks means this is the only logical choice in the full sized market.
#6, The Honda Ridgeline won truck of the year 2006 from Motor Trend and also won the North American Truck of the Year Award for 06, oddly enough

#7, probably due to the complete shock that honda is capable of producing anything bigger than a civic that doesn't look like a toaster. |

It's hideous looking and underpowered, but I guess Honda was able to lull critics with it's Unibody construction which allows more bedspace. And there's the front and side air bags and stability assist. But it isn't selling worth a damn and doesn't appeal to any off road markets, I'd say it would have the appeal of being a more "universal" truck, or a truck that would appeal to your average Joe who has no use for boat loads of torque or a 4X4.

Looks like a fattened F-150.
In fact - if I cover up the grill and the Tundra badge - it is an F-150. |

It's fat and imposing, a strange blend of soft curves and hard edges that will effectively appeal to the full size desiring demographic much like big domestic SUVs have been doing since the late 1990s. If the Titan sold, this will sell...

#7, it's quite possible that this thing has the best interior http://automobilemag.com/auto_shows...ndra_02_900.jpg , or the most torque in its class (around 400)
And the ridgeline ISN'T underpowered. Ugly? Yes. Underpowered? No. It has 240hp and 240lb-ft. Hell, that's better than the shit colorado or even the most powerful ranger (4.0 liter), or the V6 dakota, or virtually any older small/midsize truck. You're forgetting that it's not a fullsize truck. |
