Someone fixed thos damned tail lights but put a fart cannon on. Before you say anything about performance consider this: neither group N, nor A, nor WRC cars have exhausts this big. |

#2, and those have power limits do they not? so no need for crazy big turbo which can make use of a healthy sized exhaust |

#3, Well, no. Group N cars have to use a 32mm intake restrictor, group A 34mm and WRC cars 36mm. Also WRC cars have to have "around 300hp at 5000rpm". No one ever "officialy" dynoed a WRC car so this "rule" is never enforced and therefore is just plain bullshit. It is said WRCs have around 450-500hp nowadays. Group N Lancer may have 20hp less than stock car (because of the restrictor) but it has twice the torque of the stock car or more. In reality it's just a matter of how much boost the turbo/engine can take without blowing up. 1.7 bar in a group N car (stock engine internals and turbo) is really pushing it.
All in all I'm not conviced such a big diameter is necessary. |

its a road car....its his/her car.....and he/she can do what he/she wishes with it
is it necessary for you to post such long pretty much useless comments....no....but you do
why? becuase you felt like it, thus you did it
and by the way.....burned tip exhausts piss me off for some reason |

#11, It's not something aI would buy, but I like the car and see no need to bring FIA classes into my opinion of it. |

#10, Because I was asked about power limits in turbo rally cars.
And every riced car that is on RON is somebody's and yet we dare to laugh at them and to criticize them. |

#15, Nothing. But we have a tubrocharged car and a funky aftermarket exhaust. And it's an Evo no less. When you combine those two facts you might stumble upon FIA rally classe. |

If you're on drugs, maybe. The connection is pretty tenuous in this case, considering it's a street car. |

#17, But even in The Kingdom of Boost (FIA rallying) the exhaust are smaller so I can't understand why does this street car have this potato cannon? Does the big diameter somehow alter torque curve for example? Is it quieter? Or is it just for show?

It's probably mostly for cosmetics, but aside from the overheated look, it's not too ridiculous, so I don't see a point in dwelling on it. I don't really know how big that is, either--if it's 3.5", it can only flow about as much exhaust as my 2.5" duals... |
