its probably somewhere between a 2.5 - 3 inch exhaust with a 4.5 inch tip on the muffler
i know on ford 2.3 turbos a single 3 inch turbo back exhaust makes more power then a 3 inch to 2.5 inch duals
quieter no, better turbo response yes.....the same 2.3 with 3 inch catback and the TINY turbo(IHI) from an 88 turbo coupe makes a full 18 pounds of boost by 2800 RPM.....and thats pushing its efficiency
the tip is fuckin gay still |

unless the tip is the same size as the rest of the exhaust, then there is nothing wrong with it |

Its stainless steel, any heat will add discoloration. |

Although Evos and WRXs of this vintage are generally uncommon near me, a good number of the one's I do see have large exhaust tips. I never really thought much of it since I figured a bigger outlet would aid a turbo'd engine, I wouldn't even go so far as to call it a "fart can" either, seeing as how they produced a decent throaty sound. I am also confused as to why we're discussing FIA cars exhaust setups when this is clearly a street car, it may seem tacky to some but it's not worth wasting a thread about. |

Burnt tip exhausts look cheap, yes, the size is irrelevant, the car is fuckin SEXY nonetheless |
