well....tranny doesnt like highspeeds......others reccomend a really good aftermarket tranny cooler....which would be my only other mod aside from a better designed intake.....rather then the one that has dams and such snaking down the inner fender.....
and maybe a carbon fiber cowl induction hood......if i ever feel like spending that much money on it....which probably wouldnt happen....seeing as how that may ruin the half ass sleeper effect this 15.7 second monster taurus brings to the table |

so i took her out to the local cruise spot last friday night......surprised the hell out of some people
Noone wanted to run me cuz i was a taurus. I blipped the throttle on a Civic hatch SI to get the night started-93ish style-the ones supposed to run high 15's stock. He bit. Light turned green and i let him get the jump on me then hammered it to about 40.....put about 3 cars on him in that amount of time....thought he wasnt actually racing....i was wrong....he did the ricerflyby and then i didnt see him the rest of the night.....then everyone wanted some taurus....just surprised a BUNCH of people....thought it was cool and had to share..sorry |

Okay, here's the situation. I am currently car-less and I have been looking at SHOs lately. I have seen a couple under $5k (limit is $5400) but I have also seen a couple 1st gens for under $2k. I am trying to decide what to do. |

#69, depends what you want....essentially either engine is VERY dependable but the auto transmissions that come with them arent if not taken care of properly....though you wouldnt have that problem with a gen 1 seeing as how they only came in manuals....the gen 2 had an auto option and is much more common because of it...the gen 3 is auto only
gen 1 is a bare bones performance car...not as refined and is a very sporty feeling vehicle from what i hear....gen 2's are almost the same way but have a slightly softer feel
gen 3's like mine are more of a cruiser....theyre built for comfort not straight line performance...dont get me wrong...its a nice sporty feeling vehicle...but its not the performer that the other gens are
if you want fast and stiff get a gen 1 or 2....if you want comfort get a gen 3
if looking at gen 3's make sure you test drive....and listen for any clicking or rattling or rough idles as theyre all signs of a pending cam failure...and figure in about 800 dollars |

#74, has silver frost gen 3 SHO bumper badge on left taillight..haha
though that looks to be a damn nice gen 1.....and if i were you and interested/didnt want a stick...id call them....because 93(2 and 3 are too damn close together) was the first year for the Auto SHO....it would have to either be a Gen 2 powertrain swap or somebody really wanted an auto....either that or id want an engine shot to confirm Yamahammerage
wiki actually has reliable info on it all this time : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Taurus

#77, yes...but that worried me as the Vulcan engine is a 3.0 as well....and was an option in the car
there were 3 yamaha engines put into SHO's....a 3.0, a 3.2, and a 3.4 |
