Description:
Holden Ute
there's talk of bringing it over to the US but NOT as a Chevrolet..

so either Pontiac or GMC is most likely, here's a couple of chops i've seen:
Pontiac G8 Ute?

GMC Caballero?.. i'd rather they call it Typhoon or Syclone

#16, Bob Lutz himself has stated, on more than one occasion that it won't be a Chevy

In reference to his line that a Ute sold in the U.S. would not be badged a Chevrolet, Mr. Lutz added, "The Chevy product portfolio is too full to add this to it. We'd do it as either a Pontiac or GMC."

#22, Lutz is turning his back on the company's heritage once again. Is he really so blind that he can't see that a Chevy El Camino is more appropriate than a Pontiac pickup or a GMC version of what should be a Chevy? There's a reason why you rarely see old Sprints or Caballeros.

#23, I think he's trying to shy away from doing too much reviving old names on a rebadge car

#23, what part of "The Chevy product portfolio is too full" do you not understand?

#23, I know heritage is important, without a strong heritage important automobile manufacturers wouldn't have anything to show for their labors nor would they have anything to differentiate them from their competitors. But heritage is just that, heritage; as in "the past". And this is 2007, what held true 30 or 40 years ago doesn't hold true now, but you don't need me to tell you that. And what I mean to say is that this cars name and what make a small group of fanboys think it should "be" doesn't mean shit. GM will name it what it wants to (provided it comes to the states), price it how it wants to, market it how it wants to and then, as a consumer, you can buy one and call it the "Flaming Penis Wagon" if you want. Until then, stop bitching.

#30, I gave up hope on the auto industry back in '05. If it works out for them, great, if not, there's nothing I can do about it.

#31, Well, GM producing (importing) a new car I actually want to buy besides the...err...well I liked the...uhhh...O.K. the first personally desirable car from them in a while is worth something. Hate all you want but you can't deny it's a quality car.

#33, you should post more pictures you take of cars. Oh wait. Why is it that the person who bitches most about it, doesn't post? I mean after all, you're DFW which has some pretty nice cars as I recall.
