My ancient digital camera finally stopped being a bitch long enough for me to snap some decent digital photos of my new car.

Well... at least it's a newer car than the Rambler... *runs*

Earlier this month, an old dude I know swapped this car for the Rambler. It's a 302 V8, C4 automatic, with less than 50,000 miles on the clock. The only problems I've discovered so far are a faulty right side low beam, A/C that needs recharging, a non-functioning inside clock, and some rust through on the upper quarters and behind the rear window.

Ole Miss front tag. I will be removing this: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/olemissfrontplate.jpg

The very nice original interior: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/sweee...ooo-shun!!!.jpg

Actual mileage as of photo shoot: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/49357mofo!.jpg

What would any '70s car be without a JC Penney CB?: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/imburtreynoldsbitch.jpg

Functioning dome light on a car this old? Impossible! The little map lights also work: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/youcandomeanytime!.jpg

"Ghia" emblem in rear window. Dark picture, but visible. I think it's an interesting styling touch: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/grana...indowemblem.jpg

The choked-up 302 2 barrel. Mild upgrades may be in order. Note the functioning hood light: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/122thunderinghorsies.jpg

Before an increase in power, though, this should probably be addressed. Area is the entire filler panel below the rear windshield: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/dammi...stedthrough.jpg

This is even worse. Luckily, it's only on one of the quarters, but it is rusted through: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/thesi...arofdespair.jpg

Man, get that area behind the windshield fixed pronto. And be prepared... it may be a lot worse than it looks.

#5, It's not: I've checked from inside the trunk. It's just the filler panel.

That quarter panel is another matter, though.

Very nice classy car, love the interior. Oh my, how I would want one with a 351C :p

#10, A 351W might be better, since it would be a direct bolt in. ;)

I hate you Skid! I love me some 2 door boats. As for the motor the EZTE(IIRC) stang/truck heads and and a 4 barrel would be a huge upgrade. That and a cheap Summit cam

#13, Current plans call for freer-flowing dual exhaust, a small cfm four barrel with dual-plane intake, and a coil pack / plug wire upgrade (Granada owners seem to universally recommend the last one).

Hopefully that'll give me at least something close to 200 horsepower. I don't want to go overboard, otherwise I'm going to find myself upgrading the suspension, brakes, and rearend. I just want to give it enough power to get out of its own way.

#14, Be sure and get an h/x-pipe unless you want it to sound like a redneck truck. Also if it has an 8.8 out back then you got a while before you have to worry about breaking it.

We had a lot of rain over the past few days....I opened the trunk to my car yesterday, and there was about 2 inches of standing water in the spare tire well. >_<

I don't know if I actually want to try and repair the rust on this thing, or just sell it as is. I'm thinking nobody would buy it, unless I'm willing to sell it "no reserve" on EBAY and take about $800 for it.

#19, .......

Er, Engrish aside, I haven't "given up," per se, I'm just weighing my options. I don't want to end up dumping $1,000 into this thing....and by the time I consider the replacement rear panel, the upper quarter (I don't even know if they reproduce those) and paint and vinyl top replacement, it may end up at that amount. I also haven't had a chance to look at the trunk floor yet....the trunk always looked clean, so it's never crossed my mind.

I'll just have to get an estimate and see how it goes.
