Description:
I doubt that the cold air intake will do jack shit...its still right next to the engine, and
closer to the exhaust manifold than stock, yet it costs quite a bit |

one of my friends Gas R/C car ran his way to lean, the little engine seized up. "Be safe and run rich!!...even though there is more of a mess to deal with after with. |

Problem with using the hood scoop: the "bow wave" on most cars kicks the airflow over your typical ram-air setup or hood scoop (like the one on mine. Not even functional, purely for looks. Considered making it functional, but it was far more work than it was worth.) That's why drag cars have the scoop opening as high up as they do. Now, a cowl-induction hood works, since there's a pressure buildup at the bottom of the windscreen that'll force air right in there. |

it depends on the location of the scoop, as well as the geometry of the actual intake. the trans am's ram air hood works pretty well, but the camaro SS isn't that great. |

Yeah, the TA scoop is a really good design. It's right at the front, so it gets the air before it gets disrupted by the aerodynamics of the car. However, most scoops (Camaro SS, pretty much any Mustang scoop ever, etc.) are essentially non-functional due to that factor. At least that's what my dad, who is an aerospace engineer with a degree in fluid dynamics, tells me. |

he's the man to know. depends on the height of the scoop, really. and shaker scoops work, but not the way that you'd think. they just suck the air right in. |

I'll get my mates car up here soon. Then you can have a go at the scoop. And the car. Then I'll post a list of what it has beaten. |

I don't care what kind of scoop you use, hood scoop, ram-air scoops, under the bumper scoop, ice cream scoop, Honda engines are dog-slow. |

most CAI's do jack-shit anyway...the only gain is if you use it with several other mods. |
