Srsly?

I don't believe I've ever seen one with rust (at least visible rust)

Oddly enough rusty imports, espescially late model ones like this, are not known to rust around here. It's like they need a special kind of salt.

I don't see rusty Protege5s here. They all have rock chips though, and/or were driven very hard by college-age kids who thought they were God's gift to driving.

No modern car should rust, after all they're made of zinc (sp?) treated metal, right?

My brother's '00 Corolla has a growing rust spot on the door, believe it's from a door ding that was left to weather.

It's odd to me to see a car this new with rust on it.

#9, The only explanation is a factory flaw in the materials IMO.

It came from Walser. Doesn't that explain everything?

The one I test drove a few days ago had rust :(
No 6-year-old California car should have rust. Sadly that one has lived on the coast all its life and was unfortunate enough to be parked outside after something chipped away a small piece of paint on the inside of the driver's door. Also the springs for the pop-up air deflector on the moonroof had rotted off and there were pine needles in the moonroof's steel inner rim.

This thing has rocker rust, hood rust and all four fenders are eaten now. Sad, really :(

Now I'm kinda glad I didn't get one of these... as for my current car, I get it washed *at least* every two weeks, including underflush... hopefully it'll keep the rust at bay...

The Sentra, after over a year of ownership beachside, hadn't really rusted at all... and that car I washed at least every three weeks. So hopefully that's a good sign that washing it helps.
