Might I suggest KAZAA, where you can download a real copy of photoshop for free? ;)

No thanks, I'm A-OK with paintbrush (when I put some time into it, anyway. I rushed this one, just like I usually do.

I use Paint Shop Pro 5.0. Ancient stuff, but it DOES do layers sorta like Photoshop. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper if you are one of those people who likes to buy their software (like me).

Now, what this car really needs is a pair of 12s in a bandpass box where the backseat used to be... (or not!)

I had Corel Draw on my old computer....I could do some really good stuff with it. Now the best I can do with paintbrush is stuff like #6070 and #7649.

if you're a student, photoshop 7 would only cost $200 rather than $650

I can't believe anyone would pay 650 bucks for a program. You can get a decent computer for that one.

if I was a professional photographer, the $650 for photoshop would be spent without hesitation, its just THAT GOOD.

#14: If you think that's expensive, thank God you don't do 3D art. Modeling packages like 3D Studio and SoftImage cost well over $5,000.

Yeah, 3D is the worst, price-wise. I used to do 3D stuff as a hobby, but it was never as good as it could have been because all the really great programs were obscenely expensive.

Of course, there is also some good open-source stuff out now.
