#33 a civic wit the license platei eat v6's wouldnt be beating supra's since all supras are inline 6's
and these dsm's are cheap speed the same wit mustangs and camaros these cars take no money to make fast compared to any other import........ the fastest import in our city for the longest time was a second gen eclipse wit the first gen motor in there and he was running 11's wit minor mods when compared to all the other imports wit alot of mods and only running 12's and 13's..........my point is these are cheap speed just like domestics

Many popular turbo cars are, just drop the compression and up the boost, easy as.

also the awd launches of the talon tsi's is crazy they can drop the clutch at 5000rpm and catch traction right away and be far ahead of the competition

That thing couldn't be a V-8 if the 8 had no spark plugs

the second gens are heavy ass fuck but the first gen is a known giant killer because it can run 13's wit a 10 dollar boost controller and exhaust but you can make a tsi run 11's for 5 grand and the car will still be able to corner unlike an 11 second domestic

#45, Okay, so now all 11 second domestic cars can't corner. That's amusing. What evidence do you base this on? That's like me saying that all good handling Japanese cars are pitifully slow in the quarter mile: I think we both know that isn't true.

#45, Oh, wait. Let's see, there's the C5 Corvettes. A few engine mods and they'd easily be good for 11s. Hmm, the '03 Cobra, despite its massive curb weight, was reported to be the best-handling one yet. Runs solid 12s out of the box, and could probably be easily modified to hit 11s, considering it has a cast-iron block and comes with a supercharger (with a conservative pulley). Shall I go on?

Oh yeah, and last time I checked, DSM's aren't really known for their cornering ability.

#48, Didn't even think of that one.

RWD is good for handling - would just take a few mods to even get my old '86 SS into the great handling realm... it already does have a handling package and can push the corners pretty hard...
Can be made to go 11s for a small outlay in cash... (ie, getting rid of the 305 for a 383 stroker)

#50, Careful with the 383, though: They're low revving torque engines, and I understand they can be a bit of a pain on the street.

#51 - well I actually plan just a mid-13s car with a 330hp chevy 350 crate engine...

#51, Actualy, they are only "low" revvers when compaired to a 4 or a 6, they can run safe up to about 5K, just like a 350

Heck, my V6 redlines at 5300.

A "Low" revving V8 would be the 6.6 Olds I have, it revs safe to 4500, then it's all a matter of luck and faith

383s are torque monsters--- would blow out my wimpy 7.5" rear...

You guys wanna hear low-rev? The 2.5L Pontiac "Iron Duke" in my Fiero only saw 4k-4500rpm when the tranny was slippin'. Shit you not.

My 305 redlines at 6000. I think the old 283s and 302s could go up to 7000.
