HAHA, and everyone questions me when I say that I hate power windows. And all new cars come standard with them too, dammit.

Power windows should be used on a pretty frequent basis (let them all up and down at least once a month), otherwise they'll operate slow or stop responding. I don't know what it is technically - some sort of buildup in there - but it sure happens a lot on old PW. The Camaro did it all the time.

Try flipping the switch and pushing up on the glass when your hands. If that doesn't work, it's probably an actual defect in the system somewhere.

#62, Yeah - I bought some new switches since there was some dust caused by sanding away at the plastic filler I used to replace the holes in the t-tops. We shall see if this does the trick. Kinda strange how it can only go down. Cheap made in china switches...

I'm thinking of putting her back in the garage until next year...

I'm just not happy with the transmission or the wacky 305 right now. I love driving her, but sheesh... I just got a $450 insurance bill for her...

on the way to work today, my voltage meter dropped way down and she started to idle quite funky. Probably need to replace the alternator... I drove her damn hard on the way to work...

dunno...

ack - my alternator belt snapped! That's why I was having charging problems. I made it home on battery power alone!

I installed a new alternator belt / water pump belt yesterday. You know, a car runs alot better with those on!

#68, not yet - gotta clear out my debt first... plus I've been blowing money making homebrew audio gear.
But I just got a home equity loan so that should really help to clear away my credit card bills so I can start saving (must pay cash this time) for the new tranny - $1200-$1400 mind you! - and then the new engine. Wife sez the car is fast enough with the 305 - but I disagree - it 'feels' about as fast as her mountaineer!

replaced Holley Carb with an Edelbrock 1406. The Holley was a good runner but leaked fuel out of the rear bowl.
new fuel line
new linkage

fixed exhaust leak

future :
replace governor
replace alternator / track down electric problem
new cd deck
new gauges (oil, electric, temp)
new radiator
