RED But yeah not too bad. Whats the engines code name, like the GTR skylines engine is the RB26DETT, so whats the code for this cars engine?

For those who don't know, the engine is Mitsubishi's 4G63.

2.0L 4 cylinder turbo
122 cubic inches, 1997cc
Capable of ~450 reliable horsepower on the stock bottom end. This is Mitsubishi's race engine which was designed in the mid 80's for small displacement applications. Iron block, aluminum head. It came in the 1990-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eagle Talon. Also the 90-94 Plymouth Laser and the 91-92 Mitsubish Galant VR-4. It came in a variety of cars in non-turbo form as well, and will be reappearing in it's true turbocharged state in the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

I was just refering to the U.S. Market, but yes, the 4g63 was in all EVOs.

#5, Yeah thats what I was wondering, I thought it was that engine, just the evo engine is somewhat better.

For an engine that's not particularly large (in terms of displacement, anyway) it really looks like it's shoehorned in there.

#11, Well, in terms of external dimensions, it's probably not so tiny. For one thing, DOHC engines usually have very large valve covers and stuff.

Heck, the 4.6 in the current Mustangs have similar external dimensions to 400+ cid. big blocks.

It's the same length if I recall (it can take the same heads as a 4.6), but it's rather tall.

#8, it is the exact same engine as the EVO 1-3. The engine was swapped to the other side of the bay for 4 and up EVOs. That is why the 1st few EVO model engines are a direct bolt-in for 1st generation DSMs in the US market.

Nope, it is a Forced Performance Green turbo. Sort of a hybrid between a 20G and a Garret. It can support about 500hp and is extremely streetable. (full boost (20psi) at around 3700rpm). Check out FP at www.forcedperformance.net
