To me it's tacky and overstated. I could see this on a race car where the whole idea is to grab people's attention, but on a luxury car, it's just out of place.

He stopped posting here (or at least slowed down) after he posted a magazine comparison in which the M3 came out on top of a bunch of other high-end sports cars, and then argued that everything else sucks compared to the 'M'. Numerous RiceOrNot members collectively owned him.

#16, Interesting. Wish I could have witnessed that.
I am really really sick of BMWs around here. Here, every yuppie and their yuppie ass mother drives one of these things. I am sick of seeing them, sick of hearing about them, and sick of hearing their exhaust that sounds like a mix between a rice rocket and my ass.

That's one thing I've noticed--BMW I6 engines idle really smoothly and everything, but they have the most un-interesting exhaust note one could possibly imagine. My mother has a Z3, and the main thing I don't like about it is the sound of the thing--it lacks any real personality.

#18, All the BMW's that I've driven were fun to drive, but it allways felt like there was no "soul" to the car. It felt kinda cold and empty. If cars were people, I think BMW would be the quiet anti-social goth looking kid who sits in dark places muttering to himself.
