I'd rather have the Impala.

Impala was using those lights as far back as 1960 (And in 1958). Considering the car has NOTHING else in common with the Skyline, I say it's definitely not a Skyline rip-off. Jesus H. Fuckcake, they're two totally different types of cars.

#1, I'd like to add onto that. The Skyline ripped off the Corvette, the Impala is going for a Corvette look since it's ALSO a Chevy. But the riceboys would like to believe the Japanese invent everything, and all the Americans do is copy it poorly.

#1, never mind that the lights don't look the same. and according to CRXtrackguy the skyline had them before the vette did

Chevy introduced the "duck-tail" Corvette in either 1960 or 1961, back when a Skyline was something you saw in the city at night and nothing more. And as I said in post #3, the first Impala in 1958 had twin round lights like that.

Very true #4. I don't think many people know that though. I have heard a lot of talk about the Impala looking like a Skyline. Go figure. I don't know what to think about it, but C5 tails are not exactly circular. It must just be a look back at older 'vettes and Impalas.

Hey, I hate the "Wimpalas" too. I'd definitely take the Skyline between these two cars. But the Impala copying the Skyline? Puh-leeze.

For the price to import, convert, and find insurance for the Skyline, you could turn that Impala into an ass-kicker.

1. thats not an impala.
2. GM's new "FWD & Weaker Engine" movement sucks.
3. the skyline is a great car, but those lights have been around for a while now.
4. isn't the skyline copying the Ford Model A? Ford Model A has a steering wheel, and GASP! so does the skyline!

Yeah, the europeans copied our idea of the steering wheel. They used to use a steering bar.

'60s Impalas had sets of 3 circles not 2, so I'm guessing they're gearing more towards a Corvette resemblance...

#18, Two of those were backup lights, though. But obviously Chevy doesn't want two gigantic backup lights on the back of the new Impala that's as large as the tails. That would look a bit freakish.
