Description:
A pink pig-nose Mercedes CDI diesel engine-propelled limousine is parked by activists of the environment protection organization 'Greenpeace' opposite the DaimlerChrysler office in Berlin to protest against diesel engine emissions. Greenpece protests the policy of German carmakers Volkswagen and DaimlerChrysler for refusing to equip their diesel cars with proper emission filter systems.

A solution for them (I'm not supporting it) would've been to steal the CEO's car and do this to it...then take it to a protest, with a filter installed. :)

#18, Whoa. That's crazy.

Think about it... they're not gonna use this car that much. God knows what they'll do with it, but it won't be driven constantly. So if this display prevents even one person from buying one for themselves and driving it around daily, then they've achieved their goal, and it's that much less pollution in the air.

I'd drive it daily...after I install cherry bombs so it pollutes more.

That would really be a bad stroke of irony for the morons who did this.

#23, that wouldn't necessarily have the same effect, because then they'll be portrayed as thieves, which'll hurt their image.

And it doesn't ruin their point that they bought the car. They're showing that the earth, and saving it from pollution, is more important than money.

You're still missing the point that they'll drive this to protests, thus contradicting what they're protesting.

And if it's a "one-time use" thing, what will they do with it after this? Lock it up and never drive it again, thus potentially harming the environment as it begins to biodegrade? Sell it to someone who will (what else?) drive it? Or maybe they'll burn it, releasing the afore-mentioned harmful pollutants into the atmosphere?

DON'T THESE PEOPLE PLAN AHEAD???

*Hits self in the head with New York Yellow Pages* Okay, I'm better now.

#27, I'm not missing that point at all. I can see that. It's pretty obvious.

I'm saying that in some cases, you have to set priorities, and if they can use one car to prevent a couple more from being bought, then we're better off in the long run.

#29, everything's bad for the environment, and there's nothing you can do about that. Maybe they have a plan that we don't know about. That's entirely possible, isn't it?

schmidtL03: im going to start carrying my bat with me
schmidtL03: or maybe i should buy some .38 cartridges and some 12 gauge cartridges
friend: they do have a good point, though, just not an effective way of sharing their message
schmidtL03: decisions decisions...
schmidtL03: hell no its not
friend: yea it is
schmidtL03: they should rot in hell for burning them
friend: suvs are the gas-guzzling giants that are forcing our gas prices to skyrocket
schmidtL03: i mean...they're saying that SUVs are polluting more than....corvettes, mustangs, camaros, anything with a V8 in them
schmidtL03: then why arent they blaming muscle cars and pickup trucks

schmidtL03: i think that the hybrid market was never very good to begin with
friend: yea its not
schmidtL03: oh well

schmidtL03: que sera sera
schmidtL03: that would be one expensive hybrid

I liked the idea of special driving tests for vehicles exceeding a certain weight, mainly SUVs. I don't like them because of how often I get tailgated, run over, and push off the road by soccer moms who can't see over the steering wheel. I don't hate the SUV, I hate the popularity and trendiness of owning one to take to the grocery store.

Implement testing to keep them out of the hands of people who can't handle them...and hopefully they'll be used for their purpose...and then I'll be fine with them. Screw the environmentalists' reasons, I just am sick of fearing my life around them.

#39, *didnt quite understand what you just said but will make a stab at an answer*

exactly. SUVs do not contribute to pollution any more than pickup trucks, 18 wheelers, anything with a V8 or any old car. so...why don't they go and protest against them? and i swear the first muscle car that gets burnt will result in blood being spilled...
