Description:
Decided to post some pictures of the upstairs of my house. Never remodeled along with the rest of the house, it's a bit run down and we only use it for storage. Here are the stairs leading up to the door. |

When you reach the top of the stairs, to the left (on the other side of the open door is an old bedroom, complete with a (kind of fancy) old rug on the floor. This room is full of chunky, poorly applied green paint, parts to an old hospital bed, a ceiling fan (on the floor), and some old blinds. The other door leads into a small bathroom, which has a sink and toilet (neither are hooked up), and a closet with two old pressure cookers in it.

Take another right in front of the old junk, and there's the main room. This room is very large and only has two windows, near the ceiling. It was nearly empty when we moved in, apart from a fireplace in the corner with an old mantlepiece and a credenza in the corner. Now the rest of the room is full of boxes.

Finally, after you pass through the main room, there's an old kitchenette in the back. This room is empty apart from a sink with cabinets and a chair that just sits in the middle of the floor. The window overlooks the back yard, and numerous times I've looked up at it and thought I saw someone looking back out at me.

#3, The windows to the front are actually to the left of the picture, in the cove where the Christmas boxes are. I don't know why I said "behind the junk". |

Dude, I'd clean it up and have my own living quarters. A Bedroom, bathroom, and enertainment room all to my self. |

#8, Yeah, but there's no air conditioner up there, and heat rises in the summer time. :( Opening the upstairs door during the summertime is like walking into a steel factory. |

A cheap little air conditioner isn't going to cool the entire upstairs...it's about 900 square feet just up there, with an open fireplace and not much insulation.
Plus there's the problem of installing it...there's about a 20 foot drop out of any one of those windows, and I'm pretty clumsy with heavy stuff like air conditioners (and my car stays parked below those bedroom windows...ack!). |

I used to have 2 window air conditioners at my old house (1 downstairs:kitchen, hall, dining room, living room, and bedroom and 1 unit upstairs: 3 bedrooms.) and they would keep it ice cold all summer. |

My family's old house was 800 sq feet (total) and we required 3 air conditioners. Not only does it get REALLY hot and humid here, but also the way the house is set up makes a difference (both our old house and the upstairs in this house is an odd shape, which screws up the air flow). Currently in our downstairs we have 3 air conditioners (a coupe of 1200s and a 12000) and it keeps it reasonably cool (the high ceilings in this place help). |

800 sq. feet seems really small to me. Both of the homes we lived in for most of my childhood were >2000, although I guess we actually had too much space (and I had a sister). |

it hurt like a bitch, but it was kind of funny because my ankle got so swolen, like a golfball and a half or something, but on the way to the hospital it hurt even more, all the turns, short stops, quick accelerations made me roll around the place, it wasnt good. |
