#1, as far as I know it's fine. I am going to do similar to what Muntz did. Save all the parts I need, sell/part out the rest. |

#6, and that my friend, is a great way to make lots and lots of $$$
make sure you take the frame, and everything you don't want (even any appliances/any other heavy metal objects) to the crusher, in ohio, they're giving around $150 for a ton. |

#7, i'm sure it has a good frame. I think I may sell it as a whole sans trunk and bent body panels and sans radio/CD player, wheels and tires, and console, and front grille. |

#2, I once saw a Lumina Euro Coupe (3.1 Liter), similar to my old car with a 5 speed that they had installed with the 3.4 Liter in the Lumina Z34s and the Grand Prix GTPs in the day. I've also seen the same transmission mated to a 3.8 liter. Seemed like it was too much work to make it worth it. But there's a lot of W-Body purists out there. |

#9, I just love the idea of making mine a bit nicer while maintaining stock parts ya know? Do you have any ideas/experiences with Ws that I can learn from? Oh, I would love a Euro someday (maybe even this winter) as a beater/project car.

#10, Your rear brakes will probably cease. When you put the car in reverse you'll hear strange grunting and groaning sounds. Never got fixed in my car. From what I can remember, changing the oil wasn't too much of a hastle. I once tried to change the spark plugs, knowing that it was next to impossible. The back bank of cylinder, except for number 5 (closest to the passenger), are right up against the firewall. I've seen people pop the tranmission in neutral, undo the motor mounts, then take a 2x4 and rock the engine forward. I tried this. Using the alternator as my leverage. It didn't work, at least not for me. I had to take it to a mechanic. I only had the car for 3 years, and it treated me OK. I miss it to this day, gray over that maroon interior. Classic. With a donor, you should be in great shape though. One other point of advice, turn signal units are worth a fortune! I had mine replaced, cost me damn over $130 in just parts from what I can remember. Hope this helps... |
