Should've swirled the numbers around or painted something silly over the plate. Oh, well. |

didn't get a ticket, fortunately. Here's the story:
Driving back from work yesterday VERY SLOWLY. The 454 has long tube headers and that's it right now. So it's a hair on the loud side, what with 10.9:1 compression and so on. Got pulled over for excessive noise by a male cop. He asks me why it's so loud, and I tell him the story of the death of the 383 and the replacement with the 454. I told him it's going to the muffler shop tomorrow. (which is where it is right now.) He tells me to open the hood, looks at the 454, closes the hood, and says, "Goddamn, boy, who you tryin' to kill with that thing?" and lets me go. |

#211, For emissions reasons, that 454 can't be a permanent solution, can it? Any idea what you're going to do next, since the 383 is obviously a goner? |

#213, find a TBI 350, probably. OE engine, emissions legal, decent power potential. |

#216, no, but I can't leave that 454 in there forever, it's got to pass inspection in 10 months. |

I don't think we have emissions inspections down here in Florida. I'm not complaining :-) |

Well, I like it in houston. And my mechanic/inspection place is pretty cool, he helped me cheat last time. |

Cool. Other than the last time, when you failed spectacularly, did you ever go through emissions with the 454? |
