Let them have a go on a track and the muscle cars will have serious problems keeping up. |

I've been in the car...this guy is the smartest "car guy" I know. I can be working on ANY car and have a question...I'll call him and he'll tell me the size of every bolt in the car (related to my question), what tools I'll need (down to socket sizes) and what parts/treatments to make your car perform the best. He has it own garage AND works for Chrysler...he was a contract to build up PT Cruisers, Neons, and some fords. He's not like these riceboys who GUESS on their horsepower to impress people. He says 350...and he's right. Just because you never saw it doesn't mean it's not possible.

response to #21...so you can corner better with a smaller car...you cannot say most of the imported cars (except mega-priced Supra's/NSX's/etc) have the power and torque of an AMerican muscle car...go to a strip and you'll see the truth. |

Perhaps you should do your homework before you come with that attitude. Turbo Eclipses come with a 4G63, which is a completely different motor than the 420A. The 420A was OFFERED in the bottom rung eclipses, but nobody in thier right mind would build up that motor, because the 4G63 is so much more reliable, and is capable of much higher numbers. I'll say it again, 350HP from a normally aspirated 2.0L 4 cylinder engine is next to impossible. You're talking like the VTEC boys now. It's rather simple math. A 2.0L motor at maximum efficiency can only pull a certain volume of air in through natural aspiration. And I have yet to see one push 350HP and still retain its 2.0L NA trim. |

I know a guy like that. Has a 2L turbo. Carby fed turbo runs up to 38psi NO intercooler. Sure the turbo lights up the engine bay. But at 25psi he has about 250rwkw. |

The thing is, most vettes get better fuel mpg than most of those imported engines and the vette has more everything (Hp, Low end, MPG..etc) |

#24: Well unlike you americans (many of you around here anyway), I don't think the 1/4 mile is the ultimate performance test. Acceleration is just a part of a cars performance, where braking ability and cornering are equally, or more, important. |

Did you ever notice any Japanese car with decent performance comes at a ridiculous price? You can go to a junk yard and get any number of cars running there that will compete/beat the majority of Jap cars. |

But the topic is POWER. Nothing was said about cornering when Ginseng started questioning engines. ANY car can run 100 MPH these days...so once you get it up to speed anything can "race" on a track. The real test to performance is proven in 12 seconds...not a few minutes to get up to speed and then simply pass people. |

great, now were having a world war on the net.
I'll put it this way, american cars were made to perform in america (Ie wide roads long straight aways) japanese and european cars have twisty roads and skinny lanes to deal with, some they were made to perform (IE turn and stop on a dime) |

Thats why I want 3 cars. Holden as drag daily driver. Sleeper dont know what yet but its going to be cheap to run and fast as hell. And then a porsche for the track and sunday driving. |

Now you're contradicting yourself. If this dodge has 350HP normally aspirated (and i doubt it), it didn't come cheap. And it would have cost him less to buy and build a 4G63 motor and a 16G turbo. Then he won't have to spin up to "rod-throwing" RPMs to make it. |

#25: Do your homework first. A BTCC car has 2 litre engines. They produced well over 300hp. Without all the rules restricting maximum rpm and other stuff they could easily get 350 out of a 2 litre 4-banger. |

Thanks, AtEase..anyways Ginsu...WHY ARE YOU BACKING OFF NOW THAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY IT'S POSSIBLE? We never discussed price, and besides, Mopar parts are much less expensive than Mitsu parts in America. You're used to paying for the cost to ship it in. |

I think it would be a impossible daily driver if it had that much hp in a tiny engine |
