#14, obviously... however most cars brought to "import drag nights" only modifications include a cold air intake, fart can exhaust, two non stock rims, primered body kit, wild wing and stickers as far as the eye can see. Being from San Diego, I have pretty much seen it all... |

#18, Thousands of Pontiac 6000 STEs sucked until someone jammed some fur into them.
No, wait, they still suck.

#25, uh no. You ever been to a real "ricer" race? I doubt it. I've seen PLENTY of stock looking 12 and 11 second Civics and such. You're obviously confused as to the diffrence between ricer and racer. I could go on and on but since you are stuck in your gritboy "jap car are teh uber gay" mindset I'll just move on. Thanks for playing, asshat. |

#27, yeah there are some... well more like a few. tacky riced civics far outnumber well prepped fast civics. and its a fucking SEMA show, do you expect anything to be running 12's? or hell even faster than stock? quit defending what isnt being attacked. |

#14, . Obviously the vehicles brought to "import drag nights" are not stock.
Not stock is irrelevant. Any car can be modified. By your logic, that makes every car in the world a "performance car." "Performance cars" are cars that are built to be fast. To create a blanket group of performance cars and include 232 Honda Civic hatches is utterly ridiculous.
either think I'm stupid, or you've never been to a non ricer import drag event. If I "sound like a ricer", to you, I'll say this. Quit bringing in non relevant items. Comparing a Malibu to an Integra is like saying I can beat a bone stock Nissan Sentra with a bone RWD converted Cavalier. Durr.
Who the HELL compared a Malibu to an Integra? Do you seriously think that's the gist of the discussion? I was saying that a highly modified station wagon does not make all of it's bone stock brothers "performance cars," nor does a highly modified economy car do the same.
You're sounding like a gritboy.
How? |

why is the point so hard to see here? A Civic =/= Performace Car, end of story. Yes they can be made fast but thats not the point. For the few that are fast and clean there are hundreds of stockers with just intake wings and fart pipes. |

#27, If a Honda Civic is running 11 second 1/4 miles then there's probably not a whole lot of "Civic" left in it, if you know what I mean.
I'm of the opinion that cars like Honda Civics and what not can't really be considered performance cars and, when modified, can only really be considered as "faster Hondas". Making a car fast by spending thousands of dollars on engine parts and buying a car off a lot with a 300hp V8 and performance tuned suspension from the factory are two different things. At heart, a car's performance pertains what the it was built and intended for from the manufacturer. Maybe that's a little deep for this discussion, but that's just how I feel. |

#31, To me, a 11 second Civic is a competition car, not a performance car. There's a difference. Also, I draw a line between 'sporty' cars (Type Rs, GTis, etc. basically average cars with added pep) and 'preformance' cars (which to me includes very few FWD cars if at all) designed and built to handle and go fast. |
