I wouldn't rule it out. It just seems sort of weird for the Cougar to turn into a FWD car after sharing a platform with the Mustang, and then the Thunderbird.

Most likey they wanted to make money off the ricers and the had the Cougar name plate just sitting on the self so the said hell why not

At least they're either not making 'em anymore, or about to phase them out (don't remember which). These were pretty unimpressive considering that nameplate's heritage. Looks kinda like a Toyota Celica, only a bit more embarrassing.
