Get a photoshop-type program that does a proper filter on resize. And I'm getting tired of hearing whining about the limit.
If you need to go larger (1) you're probably setting the quality factor too high (2) your image is too large to be viewed from this layout anyway. If it's absolutely necessary to upload a larger picture, e-mail me and I'll handle them on a case-by-case basis. But whining about filesize on a server that's provided at cost is really bordering on ingratitude :-)

Oh, and for that matter, most 56K users are lucky to pull 6K/sec., and I think 10-12s is about as long as they'd want to wait for a pic download.
