Nice idea, but doesn't the fact that is's on a Japanese car kinda send mixed messages about which country they support? HA |

I remember stories from the 70's when the auto industry was really hurting that some people felt you were being unpatriotic by buying an import, and wouldn't let you park one in front of thier stores |

Painting your car up like an American flag doesn't make you a patriot, just like waving a flag around doesn't make you a patriot. |

The owner probably thought it was a clever way to put stripes on his/her car. By the way, I wonder if it was a guy or a girl.... |

This kind of thing just screams "proud bandwagon patriot since 9/11/2001". I mean, it's utterly tacky and over-the-top. |

Latest that I've seen was a Jeep Cherrokee. And I didn't see it till after 9/11. It's as if there's a big "I'm more fucking patriotic than you are" contest goin' on that nobody told me about. Fly the flag, sure, but don't fuckin' BE the flag. |

Flying a flag doesn't make you patriotic anymore than wearing a crucifix makes you a good Christian. They're just symbols. |

Thanks, comradesampo. That's pretty much what I was thinking. It's a state of mind, not an advertising technique. |

I don't think it's patrotic. All this shows is that the owner knows what their nations flag looks like.

#1, so if someone doesn't drive an American car they're a terrorist? |
