Description:
Tried putting my car on the wheels I want to get for it this summer, (ROH Snypers) and tinted it. I will probably drop it about 2 inches too. What do you guys think? |

#17, Oh yeah, and a Civic with modifications similar to this isn't "rice". Any car with modifications similar to this as well as a nasty body kit, wild paint, and an alluminum wing is "rice". Don't try and accuse us of being "anti Japanese", you'll lose that argument. Don't become a statistic.

#22, In fact, most of us would agree with that. I still wouldn't want a Civic, even if it was tastefully done, but the pont remains that it wouldn't be rice.

Well you happen to think that "nice wheels" and a "tasteful drop" on a 1984 volvo is unique and cool. I think its ugly and pointless.

A Volvo performs a hell of a lot better than a Civic, so upgrading the suspension PROPERLY on a Volvo is a lot less pointless than doing it to a Civic.

#26, Exactly, but the fact that most of you say its nice, then turn around and say doing the same thing to a civic would be another "sheep in the herd" ricer, it exposes a little cultural bias in my opinion.

#25, Then think that. Personally (speaking as someone who owns a Volvo similar to this one), I like the styling of the Volvo 240s. Better than any Civic, in fact. I don't think a car has to be "sleek" to be cool.

#28, I believe it was already made clear: This same thing done to a Civic is *NOT* rice. Look at the voting bar on this site: See that car on the "Rice" side? That's a Civic. See that car on the "Not Rice" side? That's a Civic too. If we were "anti-Japanese", why would that be there? Keep in mind that bar was designed by a user on here.
Personally, I don't like most Japanese cars, but I don't run around calling them "ugly" or openly make cases against them. They just aren't my thing.

Ummmmm...yeah. It's pretty much common sense. Volvos are known to be some of the safest, better handling cars made. Civics are known to be one of the cheapest economy cars made.
I'm not going to waste time trying to prove that Volvos are better than Civics, look up the numbers yourself. If you don't already know that there ARE better cars than Civics, then there's no hope for you.

#28 some people on here ARE biased against civics from the start, and others could call something "rice" on the slightest provocation, but most of us like tastefully done civics and imports in general

HAHAHAH Old Volvo's may be safe and reliable, but to anyone other than biased anti-ricers, they are FAR INFERIOR to any model of civic.....well except maybe in the "charsima" category.
