#4, depends on whether the SS454 can get traction and the gear ratios of both. not to mention since the SS454 is all original, its worth more. :D |

I'd take the Chevelle. Ask any enthusiast...any true car enthusiast...and they'll tell you the measure of a great car is not the numbers it produces. If you think a car can't be fun to drive when it produces low numbers, just look at the Austin Healey Sprite.
While any Ferrari is obviously an enthusiast's car, a jet black with white 1970 SS454 is pretty stiff competition, as far as I'm concerned. I like pushrod V8s, I like simplicity, and I like solid rear axles. I probably wouldn't even give the Ferrari a second look. A great car, but as far as I'm concerned, it's totally outclassed here. I might even choose the '55 Mercury over it. |

low mileage big block Chevelles have been going for big bucks... *sigh* I miss the 80s when you could pick up 60s muscle cars dirt cheap...
I was originally looking for a 60s car to do a project with, but everything I looked at was so hacked up by previous rodders... like the 68 Firebird with the '69 GTO 400 engine, the 3" exhaust, no back seat, replaced front seats, cut up floor... sure it was fast... but sheesh...
now I'm a big believer in 80s cars! Still lots of them around for cheap... and you can still find parts in the junkyard |

#9, I was reading this and thinking the same thing. I was going to say something like that too.
I saw an all-original '71 Tempest 350 with 85K original miles here for sale for $4500. I want it so damn bad. |

#13, Good deal there. I'd like to have a '71 Tempest and turn it into a Magnum 400 clone...but I don't think I would do it to a 85k original. |

I hated that kid with his "Blech not American made = suX0rz!1" mentality. |
