Description:
Wangan Midnight.
The Anime series just started airing last week, but the manga it's based on started back in 1992 (and is still running, IIRC).
The Anime is produced by many of the same people that make the Initial D anime... and this has a very similar feel. But rather than touge racing, it's high-speed freeway racing. With a bit of "Christine" thrown in for measure. |

#45, AVI is just a container format. It's what's in the container that matters. You can put just about any type of video/audio stream inside an AVI file, much as you can put just about any content you desire inside a ZIP.

#47, Just about every media player for Windows, since it's a standard DShow container format and I think that the source filter is built into the OS, although it's necessary to have appropriate codecs installed to view the content since it's just a container. I like "Media Player Classic."
For this current fansub of WM, you're going to need an XVID codec (such as XVID itself, or FFDshow) and a standard MPEG-3 audio codec.
edit: Or just get VLCplayer for whatever system you're using; it supplies its own, self-contained set of codecs, filters, etc.

I've seen one subbed episode of inital D and the first ep of Wangan Midnight (unsubbed). Can't say I'm impressed. Too unrealistic (come on, the cars don't even move right) for one thing and for some reason I can't enter a 'suspended disbelief mode' so naturally they come off as cheesy to me. Maybe that's because I'm a rookie racer myself?

As an anime ignorant, who can recommend something for a n00b like me ? I like humor (sarcasm and absurdism are my favorite), car chases, NICE graphics, I hate too many still emotions (if that means anything, ex : huge tear in face, huge mouth, everything still but with dialogue), I like gadgets, action..
I'm waiting for suggestions. Thanks. |

That's exactly what I hate about certain Animes as well. |

#54, Seconds that. The first one is a CLASSIC. The scene at the end with the tank and the tree of like is awe-inspiring.
Stay away from dubs. Subs are much better. |

#54, I saw it, and I liked it. But I was talking about a serie (ok I don't know if Ghost in the Shell exists in series). |
