Description:
Wangan Midnight.

The Anime series just started airing last week, but the manga it's based on started back in 1992 (and is still running, IIRC).

The Anime is produced by many of the same people that make the Initial D anime... and this has a very similar feel. But rather than touge racing, it's high-speed freeway racing. With a bit of "Christine" thrown in for measure.

So do the characters talk to themselves a lot durring 'action sequences' and do they announce what the other drivers did after it happened?

#4, Simple answer... If you don't like Initial D, you're not gonna like this.

the I-D series never appealed to me much, and i was too lazy to bother reading subtitles. or look for english dubs, and the one episode to me seemed rather silly and just plain boring like most anime. imo.

I'm not aware of any English dubs of Initial D that are worth having.

>silly and just plain boring like most anime

Initial D is pretty corny at times, but it's fun to watch. However, you're painting things with a pretty broad brush if you're characterizing all anime like that.

Nice car detail, but I sense another one where the people look like an afterthought. We should all be so fortunate to find a straight, intact, shiny Z in a junkyard. Looks more like a theft recovery than a junker.

#11, well for the most part, all anime episodes i've seen, (things from corny inuyasha, to more popular stuff like cowboy bebop and I-D, and quite a few in between) its just all boring to me

So, we can just blame your bad taste on a lack of attention span. I see.

#12, There's a specific reason why such a good condition, tuned Fairlady Z is sitting in a junkyard. The car has a very creepy history.

#18, Hence the "bit of 'Christine' thrown in for measure" part of the description, I assume.

if the Z is haunted, i'd rather have that impreza sitting on the top in the back
