His biggest problem, however, was not his philosophy, but his blind dedication to it. No matter what point one argued with him, he immediately took the attitude that the other party is so unenlightened, and if they'd just bother to do the amount of research that he'd done, they'd see that he's correct, because if Bill O'Reilly said it, it must be true.

There is no greater form of psuedo-intellectual jerk-around than American partisan politics. It's a lot of small minded, cut and dry people who attempt to boil everything down into two warring factions and then pretend they're all grown up because they're talking about politics, 'cause that's mature and stuff. And it goes as such:
"YOU LIBERAL!"
"YOU CONSERVATIVE!"
EDIT: You know what's really funny? Next to time you hear someone on one of those tirades, ask them to define the terms "liberal" and "conservative."
