I know, I know. I just dont see the point in spending all this $$ on light weight wheels on a car like this. Then claiming how much faster you can go. My truck, which is my daily driver, didnt even gain a tenth when we tried after market wheels that were considerably lighter.

1) In import dragging (two g's?) you make up for the lack of horse power any place you can get it. In this case the wheels. I am sure your truck had no problem to begin with turning the stock wheels that came with it.
2) I've seen much worse paint jobs. Atleast this guy kept his car some what clean, and didn't over do it too much.

Note: Maybe I am going soft??

Yup, your getting soft :) And that was point I was trying to make, by no means is my truck the fastest thing around but it does have good power and gobs of tourque which is why lighter wheels dont make a diff. I just cant stand when ricers think their cars are going faster by putting these wheels on their cars. If you like the wheel good for you, but dont claim it as a performance mod. Also the lighter wheel would most likely hurt a vehicles 1/4 mile time for lack of traction. Wait I ment a car that has some power.

If hed follow these simple steps it would be nice.
1.) Lose the ugly ass body kit and get something subtle (stock is under-rated)
2.) The pain job is *ok*, but try to stick with one color.
3.) Lose the god damn 747 Wing.
4.) Get rid of the stickers.

P.S. If it sound like Im going soft on him, I am. I have to be somewhat partial since I own the same kind of car.

mike, as an regular racer, I can tell you that light weight rims make a difference. While they may not make as much of a difference on a high torque pickup, they make noticible performance increases on smaller engined cars. The trick here is effective weight. People go to lighter flywheels becuase the effective (aka rotating) weight is much lesser, allowing faster revving and better acceleration. Same as underdrive pulleys. While lightweight wheels are not going to shave 2 seconds off you quarter mile time, they will allow your car to accelerate faster, because of the lighter weight. Lightweight wheels would not make a huge difference on a truck (lots of torque, depends on how lighter the wheels are too) but on a 4 cylinder they can help. Also, the weight of the wheels has NOTHING to do with availible traction.

You guys keep arguing about drag racing this thing...keep in mind, this is a RICEcar not a RACEcar. It started with 97hp....an electrolux has more power.

to sum up my argument in #27, the less your unsprung weight, the better off you are. actually, lighter wheels HELP traction in corners by taking less force to change direction, among other things.

Whether or not volks are good wheels is irrelevant....the fact is, this guy just bought them because he's a poser. They are LAME on any car that doesn't need them.

I really don't like this paint very much. The fact that he put the spoiler on the back and Supra headlights and a freakin' cow-catcher on the front doesn't make it look good, either.
