#241, The only MN12 that ever came with a manual was the Thunderbird SC.

#242, Although, really, they'd be pretty fun cars with 5-speeds.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the 4.6L, but at least it's still in service, so I should be able to find parts for it if something goes wrong. The transmission is a 4R70W (judging by the model year) and they're still using those in Mustangs, also. The 4.6 isn't my favorite, but, to its credit, it does have a pretty tough bottom-end for an engine without forged internals.

#244, Stuff like that has been done. Involves replacing the flexplate with a proper flywheel, changing out the EEC, drilling a hole for the clutch pedal, mutilating the center console to fit in a standard shift turret, wiring in the starter kill switch on the clutch pedal, and getting a shortened tailshaft. Not exactly a weekend project :-)

Anyway, hopefully the car is actually as good as the ad sounds. It'll be a nice daily driver, and those cars have much better road manners than my Mustang did (they sit lower, and they've got an independent rear).

And hey (looking at the long term), people have put every modular motor up to the 5.4 in Thunderbirds...

#247, No, but they were actually Ford-licensed parts that fit properly.

#252, Cool. From my experience, though, the T-birds don't have as much problem with kicking rocks into the bumpers as the Mustangs do.
