Oh, yeah. There might soon be some news worth reporting on the used car front.

#202, Red, 45K miles, manual transmission. According to my parents (they're up in Jacksonville doing the actual shopping; I can't really go anywhere down here) it's in really good condition, but needs tires. I told them I'm interested, and they need to go take it for a test drive to make sure it runs as well as it looks.

#203, If I do that, I'll only have $2-3K of outstanding debt on the car, and I should be able to work out some way to pay that off fairly quickly.

would it leave enough money to make it a 4.2? :)

If I get another one, I'm probably doing duals (this time with turndowns) and putting on a decent shifter first.

#208, I think Morana's got 'em up to nearly 4.6 now.

#209, First, I'd need enough power to justify that. Stock transmission (if we get that car) will be a T-5. The '01 apparently had some new version of the 5-speed tranny; I never did find out exactly what it was, but the guy I dealt with when I had to have it rebuilt told me that the part numbers did not match the T-5.

#214, I don't think that would be very long-lived with that 514 you linked to :-)

#216, Believe me, I know. My mom has a '95 Explorer V6. The transmission just straight-up died at 75k miles. We are getting rid of it before the 150k mark.

#219, Its mostly the newer ones that have problems. Ford knows it too.
