#137, Yeah, those would probably be similar to the MIL (Message Indicator Light) eliminators of which I spoke. There's not really as much involved as you would think--the way I understand an O2 sensor works, it basically tells the computer that the air is clean by returning a certain voltage difference. If you wire up a device that does the same thing, you're in business..

Well, not what I originally had in mind, but not so bad, either.

ed: Probably put an audio clip up tomorrow. It sounds kinda different.

#143, No whistle tips, either.

I was originally hoping to do downturns, but the guys who were doing the exhaust decided it wasn't feasible after all--the catbacks are cut right off a GT, and the tips at the end are kinda thick.

#145, Weird. I taped it, but I forgot to get the tape out of the car when I left it at the parking garage this evening, and I don't feel like going back there right now. Sounds somewhere between a new 4.6 GT and an old 5.0 with a misfire (it's kinda uneven-sounding because it's only got 6 cyl).

ed: I'll get the tape out of the car and make an MP3 of it tomorrow if I remember. I really rather like the sound.

#147, You're right. I'm going to have to take it back and have them put on a 5" resonator. :-)

Audio clips

Starting engine, idling, mild rev (~2500 RPM) recorded from between tailpipes:
http://www.cs.ucf.edu/~celwell/Exhaust1.mp3

Accelerating--slow start, wound up to 3500 in 2nd gear, moderate acceleration from 0-55, recorded from passenger's seat:
http://www.cs.ucf.edu/~celwell/Exhaust2.mp3

In the second clip, the roar in-between gears is the clutch. Even if you lift off the gas before hitting the clutch pedal, the engine wants to keep accelerating a bit, so the clutch slips.

#153, It actually sounds a bit better in person. Since the only thing I had available to record it with was a crappy tape player, that's not exactly high-fidelity.
