Description:
Ok, I'm taking a big risk here, because I KNOW you guys will see a little yellow and scream rice, but this was the Neon I traded in for my (completely stock) ZX2. I had a NICE sounding exhaust on it (no farting, nice deep tone), 15" rims with fat tires, a complete black tweed interior (done by myself and a friend) and a few minor performance parts, but I kept in mind...it's a Neon, not a racecar! |

What the heck is that supposed to mean, Uncle Kracker?
Mine ran perfect at 130,000 miles and my mom's has been pretty much problem-free. I know other people with them and they seem really reliable for the price. They have the best performance in their price range too....which only includes Civics, Cavys, Foci etc...but if you want t cheap car, this is the best of the cheap cars.
DiRF...did she change the oil in those 3 years?

#104, Might have something to do with the fact that you're always ridiculing the DSM guys, because wasn't the Neon available with the 420a (Mitsubishi) engine for a while?

Nope, it's the other way around actually...maybe...
Either way, I didn't have my Neon in the shop more time than the road as I would've with a DSM. Like I said, it was a really reliable car for a lot of miles and I was happy with it. I only paid $7K for it.

BUT...
"The present Neon will carry on through 2003 or '04, then be replaced by what amounts to a restyled version of Mitsubishi's subcompact Lancer sedan. A new U.S.-designed Neon had been slated until DaimlerChrysler took a controlling 36-percent share in Mitsubishi. With that, appropriate Chrysler/Dodge and Mitsubishi models will share platforms and other components as much as possible to help the company trim overall costs and improve profitability. Being fresh out of the box, the Lancer was an easy choice as the basis for the next Neon. Detroit's rumor mill says the next Neon will combine Chrysler-designed outer sheetmetal with the Lancer's basic structure, powertrains, and major features. The Neon, however, will continue to be U.S.-built, though perhaps at a different plant."

#113, Oh boo hoo. NOSsucks hates me. I'm so sad. I guess you're calling DiRF and every other person who has ridden in a Civic and noticed the low quality a "fucktard" too. They're economy cars, not "performance" cars as the article leads on...and not quality ones at that. Live with it, geesh.
