Description:
Ok, I'm taking a big risk here, because I KNOW you guys will see a little yellow and scream rice, but this was the Neon I traded in for my (completely stock) ZX2. I had a NICE sounding exhaust on it (no farting, nice deep tone), 15" rims with fat tires, a complete black tweed interior (done by myself and a friend) and a few minor performance parts, but I kept in mind...it's a Neon, not a racecar! |

if it had the best parts from the factory then why does it have one of the largest aftermarkets out there? |

#159, no it doesn't have the "best of parts" and if you want to go fast doesn't it make sense to start with something decently fast anyway? |

A factory Mustang has FAR from the "best" parts on it. It's faster because it has more displacement and more cylinders than a econobox, plain and simple. You have a LOT of room to improve a Mustang...and you can do that to a greater extent than a 4-banger.

And more importantly, why did you put them on in the first place? :-P |

#159, Except for the 3.27 factory gearing ratio (or 2.73 on older models), under-sprung rear suspension that is prone to roll-up and bind, stock rear control arms with massive amounts of slop in their joints, a modified MacPherson strut front end with a highly questionable camber curve, a midbody that needs subframe connectors, rubbery factory shifter and somewhat imprecise clutch, and an engine invariably restricted by a combintation of emissions equipment and poor head flow (in the case of the V6 and GT models)... |

#117, "They're economy cars, not "performance" cars as the article leads on...and not quality ones at that.
I've been in a mid-'90s Civic sedan...the interior was of only slightly better quality to the 2000 Kia Sephia that my mother had. |

I feel dumber after reading this thread. Ok, back to my homework with less brain cells and a McDonalds tune stuck in my head. |
