And, apparently, it's not dead yet. The insurance company wants to repair it rather than total it. |

#61, WOW, are you serious!? Good luck with that. I wouldn't want to be the one to try to fix that. |

I wonder if my parents are going to want me to sell it after they straighten it out. I'm certainly hoping so--I'm not too anxious to have a car that has been through this. |

#64, Well, the insurance company is going to repair it, rather than total it, so I'm stuck with it at the moment. After it's repaired, we'll have to decide what to do with it. |

#65, Yeah, really, considering the level of intrusion into the passenger compartment, and the possible damage further up (the driveshaft slumped). |

I wonder did the insurance representative realize that this accident is much worse than it looks? I believe it's going to cost beyond the value of the car to repair it. |

Going to have to wait and see. They've got it at a dealership in Jacksonville right now (I'm back in Orlando, sans car), and they are supposed to be doing a tear-down inspection to determine if they can repair the car for the amount estimated. |

I am rather curious what the car would look like after repairs, though--like, whether they'd replace the splashguards and GT exhaust. |

And, it looks like it's actually dead. Just got an e-mail from my mother (my parents are dealing with the insurance company since it's their policy):
"Dear Chris:
Heard from your father concerning your car. After dismantling the panels from the car, they have totaled it. The floor pan is like an accordion all the way to the firewall. We will not know until at least the end of next week what they are offering as a settlement. It was much more heavily damaged than the initial inspection indicated. Thought you might want to know."
In a way, I'm happy that it won't be put back on the road. |

#74, Still sad. :(
Maybe Collector Car Trader still has that sweet '69 Mustang in your area for $5000.

It'll probably be a month before I wind up buying anything new. I'll have to see what's available then. |
