I would buy the Cam3ro. :-)

Basically, you've said that it has fewer miles on it. All things being equal, I can't imagine that 30K more miles with a young driver would equate to a 302 in as good condition as the LT1 you're looking at. Both engines should have large aftermarkets, if you're looking to modify, but I'm not a big fan of the first run of SN95 Mustangs.

If this one is a 302, I believe you'll be dealing with cast internals (I read somewhere that 92 and earlier had forged pistons or something), and thus would not have as much potential as some other 302 setups. On the other hand, if it is a 4.6L, you're going to be dealing with the (relatively) low performance first-gen 4.6 cylinder heads, which are an impediment to performance (one of the main reasons that the 99+ GTs have a lot more horsepower).

#46, Incorrect--both were 3.8L Split Port cars-- ~190 hp/225 lb-ft and 3200 lbs. Exactly the same in practically every way except the color and a few minor trim changes. Still too slow, and the stock suspension setup still sucks.

#42, but just because it's a young owner doesn't neccasarily mean it was abused, and just because the camaro had an older driver doesn't mean it wasn't :/

but this has 120,000 miles right? and the cam3ro has 94,000? you might want to keep looking :/

#49, Indeed. Also true, but between these two cars, I'd probably go with the camaro.

I'm pretty sure you could find something better for ~$5,000. you've mentioned that you liked the fox body mustangs before, you can propably find one in good condition than less than they want for these, and as lemming pointed out the pre '93 302s had better internals

#56, The lowest quote I got for putting a 302 in my car was $5900, but my car is an '84 Volvo. Thats all I know.

#58, I'd like to hope so. Considering they actually come with 302s. I would think you could track down a V8 for 6k though. Just buy a fox body. They are a dime a dozen.
