This really doesn't make sense to me though. Toyota is releasing a brand new Camry this year, so this is probably NOT what their 2007 car will look like, since its looks are based on the current Camry...

...and also, with NASCAR implementing the "Car of Tomorrow" by phasing it in, starting with 2007, Toyota's entering at a time when they'll completely have to redesign their redesign right from the getgo.

Toyota is wasting their time trying to market to the NASCAR crowd. They're much more likely to be vandalized than to actually win a race.

I think its good for Nascar to have more variety in their cars. Congratulations Toyota.

However, basing it off of a Camry = not the best idea in the world

#5, but then again, neither is basing NASCARS off FWD Montes and Fusions. I think it's fine. This is Toyota's midsize car.

#5, Variety? How is this different from Pontiac, Frod and Chevy "stock" cars? Oh, wait: the "lights" stickers...

#8, I mean that there's more than just a few makes of cars... I think Toyota is opening up the field for other foreign cars

#6, Yea since when did stock cars get changed to cars like Taruses and other family cars? That's why I think Nascar is gay

#9, But will the car actually had an engine built by Toyota? Or is it just a matter of slapping a "Toyota" sign on the valve covers? [/not a NASCAR expert]

Cool, I guess. But can TRD compete in Nascar? I don't really care enough to speculate so I'll excuse myself from this thread, toodles!

#18, i dont see why not. its not like they even use stock blocks anymore. as long as it is a 355ci OHV V8.

Yup, Toyota will probably just use a modified version of their NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series V8, which has proven to be quite a good engine. The engine is completely Toyota's design, from scratch.
