FOr those of you who don't know...Andrew Newdow is the prick (I saw him in an interview this morning, he REALLY is one) who sued the country to ban the Pledge of Allegiance. He doesn't mean to give schools or public places the OPTION to recite it, he wants it eliminated from ever being spoken again. President Bush is outraged and will overturn the court decision very soon...with everyone, even the Democrats backing him. This jackass is just as damaging as a someone with a bomb to the American way, he should be shipped out or done away with, because he's really a terrorist to our freedom too.

If he would succeed in getting his own way, there would be a court precedent, and then the same action could be taken against our courtrooms, our money (In God we Trust), the presidency ("So help me God" in the swearing in ceremony), and who knows what else. We'll have nothing existing for what the country was founded upon.

That's weird... Americans are still quite religious (well, for what I saw), so why some would want to get ride of it...

Some people are selfish in this country. They want EVERYONE and EVERYTHING to bow down and make them happy and they want everything done the way they want. This guy is too lazy to recite the pledge and learn about what our country was founded upon, so he assumes this is just a way for the schools to push their views off on his childeren. That's not the case. Kids are not FORCED to say the pledge, and they ARE taught why it's said, what it means, and why our country's freedom is so precious.

People in other countries of the world could only dream of the freedoms we have, and rich jerks like Andrew Newdow take it all for granted and don't appreciate how our fathers and grandfathers and beyond died in wars so he could go out in public without worrying about getting arrested for looking at the wrong person. (There are countries in the world like that). If you can't be patriotic or at least appreciate your country and it's heritage/history, you have no purpose to be living in the country.

I'm acctualy an atheist but I wouldn't even want to do away with the pledge. In school I just never said "one nation, under god" but that's personal beliefs.

At the local courthouse here the judge saw that the ten commandments was in the lobby of the courthouse so they're debating taking them down. The judge is the one who wants them gone while the community dosn't.

The "under God" part of the pledge was not intended and DOES not serve the purpose of pushing religion on anyone, making them change their beliefs, or even reference churches at all. It is the main reason that this country was founded, so that we could have the opportunity to worship/serve/learn about God if we chose to, without fear of persecution/prosecution, or being told HOW to or WHERE to. If you can't face the fact that's what this country was founded upon, then get out.

Um... how exactly will our little Bushie overturn the ruling? He has no judiciary powers, you know... what's more, when I went to school, kids WERE forced to say the pledge of allegiance. I never said it, on that basis and the fact that I'm an aussie. I don't care much either way, but the pledge always seemed stupid to me. You pledge to the flag, which could be corrupted by anyone. Why not do like the military, and pledge to the Constitution?

I'm not going to argue with that but it dosn't just pretain to God. Here you're supose to have the right to practice any reiligion without persecution, not just Christianity and all the other ones where you worship a "God"

The only reason God is in the pledge is becauses it's what the country is rooted in. It does not say "one nation loving God", it says "under". If this guy does not like references to God, let's say we take all of his money away since it all says "In God We Trust" and send him to live in Afghanistan. He won't have to say or hear the pledge there.

Well, it goes both ways. I kinda sorta see his point. And you could argue in court that that bit is the government confirming that not only is there a God, but there's only one of him, which many would say is none of the government's business.
