I listen to him for what he IS...an entertainer. He's not a politician, an expert, or anyone you should listen to for a source of information. I agree with a lot he says, because he uses common sense...BUT HE HAS PISSED ME OFF ON A FEW ISSUES! I just listen, I don't try to be like him...some people do and that's sad. He's an entertainer. |

Some of the people I'm most afraid of are guys like Christian fundamentalists, and they tend to be conservatives. But whatever. |

IN GENERAL a liberal is a democrat, and a conservative is a republican. |

I'm what you'd traditionally call "conservative". But the "religious right" sometimes freaks me out a bit. |

I prefer to think of the extreme religious conservatives as "reactionaries", not conservatives. |

If Andrew Newdow doesn't like being forced to do something, why the hell is he trying to force us to not say the pledge, that Hypocrite SOB. The way I see it is if you don't like something don't say it. |

Good point Jurrell...aetheism in itself is it's own religion...there are groups of people with the same beliefs (that there is no religion) and they attempt to push it on those who believe in a religion. So letting the aetheists have their way is NO DIFFERENT than letting Christians have their way. We just need to accept that people think differently and live in the country the way it was intended, instead of trying to change every little law to make everyone happy...it'll never happen anyways. |

#1 misunderstanding of atheism is that is is NOT a religion. It is an indifference to. |

Atheism is NOT a religion.
What's more, I don't think any atheist (at least none of the ones I've ever heard of) actually want to do away with the pledge, I think we'd like to remove those two questionable words. They weren't in the original pledge, and their addition into the pledge singles out not only atheists, but polytheists as well. In other words, we'd like to make the pledge equally accesible to everyone. I can't see how anyone could have a problem with this, unless it's a fundamentalist loon who wants to get converts.
Giving the religous right their way will only make Christians happy. Giving the secular left their way will make everyone happy, except for the religous right. |

But when Aetheists organize, it's now a "belief". Just as if riceboys see each other in a parking lot, they hang out...once they are in a group together and exchange ideas, their whole belief becomes more orgaized and widespread. |
