yes, that is it- the pledge was removed only because of those two words, if it didnt have those two words, it would be reinstated. So when the pledge is officially changed to not have those words, it will once again be legal in the states effected by this judgement |

The thing is, there's no belief in atheism. It's a complete lack thereof. I don't organize with other atheists, but I intend to one day, and then it's only to protect the 1st Amendment, not to push some agenda.
Who imposes atheism? Who tells you that you can't believe in a god?

ok, I'm back...was out with girlfriend
yea..there is nothing to impose on anybody, atheism is REALLY just a lack of any care for religion, so long as it isnt imposed on you, ABSOLUTE indifference to it.
antitheism is a threat to people of faiths, atheism is not |

I hate to get back into this argument, but Newdow didn't impose anything on anyone. He thought something was wrong, so he sued to try and get it fixed. A panel of federal judges agreed with him, thought that HE WAS RIGHT, and so declared the Pledge unconstitutional in its current state. You can't go blaming him, he's not the one that declared it unconstitutional. It was the federal government. |

and the court that decided was the 9th district court, which covers 9 western states...that means it is unconstitutional for all of the states in its jurisdiction |

I meant the pledge as it stands now is unconstitutional. If they were to simply take out the under god, it would be good and legal. |

yes, but the pledge would have to be OFFICIALLY changed
and that would mean everybody would have to change...I doubt the south will budge

On a similar note, the Supreme Court just ruled that school vouchers are constitutional. No doubt that was a knee-jerk reaction to the ruling on the Pledge.... |

Not to start things again today...but the CA judge that made the decision has now placed the ruling "on hold" to re-evaluate the decision and most likely change his mind. That's rare for a judge to do that to his OWN decision, and even more rare for him/her to do it the day after! Since his ruling is under re-evaluation, the law cannot be enforced until a definate decision is met...so kids...keep pledging! |

Yeah...we were retards yesterday. I'll quote some smart dude, "Arguing over the internet is like running in the special olympics, even if you win, you are still retarded."
HAHA, I LOVE THAT QUOTE! |
